Drone spraying in the Great Southern

Higher-rainfall cropping country with plenty of canola, cereals and pasture. Wet winters and waterlogged paddocks are common here, which is exactly where a drone earns its keep. We do in-crop and summer weed spraying right across the region.

Spraying in the Great Southern

Waterlogged paddocks

When ground rigs can't get on, we keep fungicide and herbicide timing on track.

Canola disease

Blackleg and sclerotinia sprays applied on time, with downwash pushing spray into the canopy.

Pasture and mixed farms

Weed control and spreading on pasture as well as crop.

Spraying through the Great Southern year

The Great Southern is higher-rainfall country, with canola, barley, wheat, oats and plenty of pasture on mixed sheep and cropping farms around Katanning, Kojonup, Mount Barker and Albany. Wet winters are the norm here, so waterlogged paddocks are a regular problem for ground rigs.

  • December to March: summer weed control in stubble and pasture paddocks.
  • May to July: post-emergent herbicide, often when paddocks are too wet to drive on.
  • July to September: fungicide timing in canola for blackleg and sclerotinia, where rotor downwash helps push spray into a thick canopy.
  • Spring: insecticide for aphids and budworm, and weed control on pasture.

We plan Great Southern runs ahead and group jobs by district, so let us know early if your paddocks tend to go under in winter.
