Why choose drone crop spraying

No wheel tracks

A mid-season ground pass typically costs about 2.5% of yield in the tracks alone, and more later in the season. A drone leaves the crop standing.

Spray when the crop needs it

Wet paddocks, soft country and closing spray windows don't stop a drone. We work from the truck at your gate.

Right to the edges

Under powerlines, around trees, dams and the house paddock, where a plane has to pull up.

Into the canopy

Rotor downwash pushes spray down into the crop rather than leaving it on the top leaves.

What we spray

  • Herbicides: early post-emergent, in-crop and crop-topping, where the label allows aerial application.
  • Fungicides: blackleg and sclerotinia in canola, and leaf disease in cereals at flag leaf.
  • Insecticides: aphids, budworm and other pests through spring.
  • Crops: wheat, barley, oats, canola, lupins and pulses.

How a job runs

  1. You send the paddocks, product, timing and nearest clean water.
  2. We quote, then set up the flight plan around paddock boundaries and hazards.
  3. Our listed pricing is based on 25 L/ha, in line with the 20–30 L/ha used for most broadacre work. Higher label rates are done by quotation.
  4. You get an application record after the job. A spray map is available as a paid extra.
  5. We only apply products whose label or APVMA permit allows aerial application.

FAQ

Common questions

Wheat, barley, oats, canola, lupins and pulses, with any product whose label or APVMA permit allows aerial application.

Not necessarily. We need gate access, clean water and confirmation of the product and any hazards. We’ll ring when we arrive and send the spray record afterwards.

Over 100 ha a day on open country, depending on wind, water rate and paddock layout. For a big program we can bring in more drones.
